Tihany was the stage name for magician and circus impresario, Franz Czeisler. After escaping from the Nazis during World War II, he traveled to South America. In 1955 he founded his Circo Tihany while he was in Brazil. Since then, the Tihany Circus has become one of the most successful and extravagant circuses in the world. His spectacles include every single circus and variety act imaginable – jugglers, dancers, clowns, aerealists, acrobats – with a great emphasis in magic.

His success has been mostly in Latin America. If you are ever down in Mexico, make sure you go see his circus. His spectacle is under an air-conditioned tent that seats 2300 people with a full staff of 200. The shows are so well produced that they are comparable to any Las Vegas productions, and even larger. What it is remarkable is that this extravanza is a traveling show!
