Milbourne Christopher was a magician, an inventor, a consultant, collector, author and magic historian.
He was probably one of the most prolific writers in the field of magic. He wrote dozens of books and pamphlets that have inspired future generations of magicians. Some of his books include The Illustrated History of Magic, Panorama of Magic, Houdini: A Pictorial Life and many, many others.
Prominent positions in the magic world included: Editor of Hugard’s Magic Monthly, MUM Magazine, President of the Society of American Magicians, the Magic Collectors’ Association and more. He won every award that could be won in magic, a few awards include SAM Hall of Fame, and AMA Literary Fellowship and Best Lecturer.
As a performer,he presented the world’s first TV network magic special. The date was May 27, 1957. This special was titled The Festival of Magic, and it was a 90 minute show for NBC-TV.
